Using automated face recognition
Automated face recognition lets you easily find images featuring the same person. It is available both in your admin space and on your website.
How to enable face recognition and add images to the search index
For face recognition to work, the images must first be analyzed in the same way as for AI-based keyword/caption generation:
Select one or more images, and click on AI Assistants. If you haven’t done so yet, create a Face recognition (BETA) assistant. You can then submit the image(s) in a single click.
Submitting an image for face recognition has a small cost and will reduce your microjob credit. The exact cost is displayed in the face recognition assistant details. Submitted images that were already previously succesfully analyzed for faces will be ignored and will not incur any cost.
Searching with face recognition
When an image is indexed for face recognition, a border frame will appear on the image around the detected faces, both in your admin space and on your website.
Clicking on that frame will search for indexed images that match that face. On the website, the search will be limited to galleries accessible to the visitor/client, just like for any other search.
Only images that have been analyzed/indexed for face recognition can be included in search results.
In the admin space, the search results follow the order set by the collection. On your website, the most probable matches are shown first.
In your admin space, you can also search for images with detected faces, images that were analyzed but for which no face was detected, etc…
Face matching accuracy
This feature uses state of the art artificial intelligence models to identify and match faces with an average accuracy matching or exceeding the ability of a human being, but can also miss some matching images or return false matches.
The accuracy of results depends on a number of factors, including the size of the faces in the image.
Face recognition and privacy
Both the face detection analysis and the face recognition search are performed on PhotoDeck’s own servers, without submitting any new information to third parties. Therefore, from a data protection / privacy standpoint, the data is treated like other client data or image in your account.
